LV1182: Railton Lever Handle
PRODUCT STORY
Crafted from solid brass, our Railton lever handle is inspired by classical architecture in the form of Corinthian columns.
It took us many attempts to bring the correct portions of the large structure of a column down to the relatively minute scale of a door handle, whilst preserving as much detail as possible. In the final version, we simplified the end of the handle to enable the slender grip and details on the shank to do the talking.
Columns we drew inspiration from can be found at the following London structures: Gibson Hall, the Corinthian portico at University College and the famous Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square.
